Player Recruitment & Representation

IBP’s Player Recruitment and Representation arm is dedicated to serving athletes and coaches in our international network of sports . We assist in the procurement and negotiation of employment as well as  endorsement contracts of the people we represent. IBP has a combined 60 years of experience in player recruitment and representation with major league sports organizations.

IBP Co-Founder and Director of Player Representation, Michael Powers, has represented some of Major League Baseball’s top talent including: Texas Rangers’ Hall of Fame catcher, Ivan Rodriguez; Cincinnati Reds All-Star Infielder, Reggie Sanders; SF Giants Relief Pitcher, Armando Benitez; Cleveland Indians’ All-Star and Cy Young runner-up, Jose Mesa; and Baltimore Orioles Starting Pitcher and 2004 Third Place Rookie of the Year, Daniel Cabrera.

IBP Director of Player Recruitment, Fred “The Shark of the Caribbean” Ferreira, is recognized as the most successful international scout in history with over 70 major league players credited to his resume. His signers include Montreal Expos’ Hall of Fame Outfielder, Vladimir Guerrero; New York Yankees five time All-Star and Four time Gold Glove recipient, Bernie Williams; New York Yankee Third Baseman and fan favorite, Mike Pagliarulo; , Montreal Expos’ Second Baseman and three time All-Star and Silver Slugger winner, Jose Vidro among others. His passport is on display in Cooperstown, New York at the Baseball Hall of Fame.  Ferreira’s career includes executive positions with New York Yankees, Cincinnati Reds, Montreal Expos, Florida Marlins and the Baltimore Orioles.
