International Baseball Partners announced it has come to an agreement with Team Renteria LTDA, a Colombian based corporation that is the parent of the Colombian Professional Baseball League (Liga Colombiana de Beisbol Profesional).

The agreement forges a new partnership between IBP and the CPBL. 

Colombian League President, Edinson Rentaria said,
Edinson Rentaria “We are excited to join with International Baseball Partners in order construct a new direction for Colombian baseball.  I believe in the vision of IBP which uses traditional and advanced media to reach new global audiences.  With the opening of the Edgar Rentaria Stadium in Baranquilla, inclusion in the 2020 Caribbean Series and this new association with IBP, I’m confident that a new and brighter day has dawned for Colombian baseball.”

 
IBP Co-Founder, Mike Powers issued this statement,

“Our research shows an important link between Colombia and the continued growth of Latin American baseball. Team Rentaria has done a tremendous job since 1999 creating a professional league for the people of Colombia.  Edinson Rentaria brings a Major League Baseball pedigree and specific ideas that match our overall vision in global baseball. We’re excited to partner with Colombia and will soon announce new initiatives that impact baseball for our southern neighbors.”
